    A new £1 charge for cruise passengers coming ashore in Guernsey will start next year.

    This is alongside a new security charge and mooring fee for cruise ship operators.

    In 2018 it will increase to £1.50 and could be extended to cover all passengers on visiting vessels, whether they come ashore or not.

    The initial £1 charge is expected to generate £130,000.

    A vision of what Guernsey should look like in 20 years has been agreed by the States of Guernsey.

    It follows two days of debate on the plan, which will be used as a basis for a five-year action plan.

    Commercial operators, private boat owners and visitors face a 1% fee rise on charges at Guernsey's harbours next year.

    Most charges and mooring fees will rise for commercial charges from January and mooring fees from April.

    Harbour master Captain Chad Murray said the increase "only slightly above inflation is reasonable" against a backdrop of rising security and infrastructure costs.

    Aurigny's CEO, Mark Darby, says the company's new aircraft will give it "more options and flexibility during times of disruption".

    The States-owned airline has leased a new ATR 72-500 to replace another ATR which has been sold to a cargo company.

    Graffiti was daubed on two island banks by a man protesting against their alleged backing of a controversial oil pipeline worth billions of dollars, external which campaigners claim will threaten the water supply of native Americans.

    Jersey is to host part of squash's European Team Championships for the first time.

    The island, which has only been an international nation in the sport since January 2015, will host the division three tournament from 4-7 April 2017.

    Jersey finished third this year, having come fifth on their debut in 2015.

    "This is fantastic for Jersey and fantastic for our squash community," director of squash Nick Taylor told BBC Radio Jersey.

    The Chief Executive of Guernsey Post says the company will make a profit of £1.5m next year - despite reporting results of less than £400,000 this morning.

    Profits for the year ended 31 March 2016 were down 23%.

    Guernsey Post moved away from the public sector pension plan, which initially cost them more than £800,000 this year, but in the long-term could save them money.

    Mr Smillie says they've worked hard with trade unions and staff to find a solution that works.

    Aurigny has added a new aircraft to it's fleet.

    It's an ATR 72-500, which will apparently have more legroom.

    It's been leased from Nordic Aviation Capital, and should enter service tomorrow.

    The old ATR 72-200, "DB", has been sold to a cargo company.

    Jersey's Bailiff has said the build up to a debate on his role has limited his ability to do his job as president of the States Assembly.

    Yesterday, the States rejected a plan to replace him with an elected speaker.

    The "Future Guernsey" plan sets out a blueprint for the next 20 years.

    The unexploded World War Two bomb that was discovered in Portsmouth Harbour this morning is now being towed out to sea.

    It will be destroyed 1.5 miles off the coast of the Isle of Wight either later today or early tomorrow morning.

    The bomb caused a five-hour delay for ferry passengers travelling to Portsmouth, with the return trip on the Commodore Clipper being cancelled.

    The States of Guernsey are closing two coast roads from 15:00 so that they can install flood barriers in preparation for tonight's high tides.

    Force six-seven winds combined with a 9.9m tide this evening, with the winds rising to force six-eight tomorrow morning, have led to a flood warning from the met office being issued.

    Route de la Perelle and Biloterie Road will close shortly.

    The World Bowls Championships will go ahead in Christchurch, despite the earthquake that struck New Zealand, according to Guernsey-based World Bowls director Garry Collins.

    The venues for the quadrennial event for outdoor bowls, which start on 29 November and run until 11 December, are just over 100 miles from the epicentre of the 7.8 magnitude quake which struck on Sunday.

    "Everything's been checked out, we feel it is safe, but there is constant monitoring," Collins told BBC Radio Guernsey.

    "If we feel at some point that we expect more of these things then we'll push that button and the championships will be halted."
