Guernsey came second in the first games but a Channel Island team didn't top the table until 1993 in the Isle of Wight when Jersey won.

That started a run of luck for Jersey who won the next two games in Gibraltar in 1995 and Jersey in 1997, Jersey's next victory was in the Isle of Man in 2001.

Guernsey won their first games in 2003 when they hosted the event and they won again in Shetland in 2005.

Jersey won in Rhodes in 2007, Guernsey in the Isle of Wight in 2011 then at home again in 2015.

The top three performing islands are Jersey who have won the Island Games six times, the Isle of Man with four wins and Guernsey with three.
