    The weather warnings keep coming - the strong east and northeasterly winds bringing snow to Guernsey are combining with high tides later today and tomorrow.

    It means sea water is likely to cause some flooding in low-lying coastal areas.

    Ladies College has confirmed in the past few minutes that it's also closing its doors today, meaning it's a day off for all Guernsey school children.

    The college was the last to confirm it was shut today, along with States schools, the College of FE and other private colleges.

    This is the best place to find out if your bus route is running this morning, external, with regular updates being posted.

    The schools may be out but most of the ice on the roads has now been treated meaning that roads are passable for buses, CT Plus said.

    A short while ago these services were running normally: 11, 12, 13, 21, 31, 32, 41, 42, 81.

    The 61, 62, 71 were suspended and the following services were disrupted: 51, 52 - unable to serve Rectory Hill, Castel Hospital or Castel Church.The 91 to 95 are operating from town to St. Martin’s and the airport only.No school services are operating.

    Guernsey's harbour master, Captain Chad Murray, has resigned.

    Captain Murray took over the role at the end of 2013 after serving with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and working as a captain for Condor Ferries.

    He will be returning to the private sector after deciding on a change of career, Ports of Guernsey's Colin Le Ray said.

    Captain Murray, who has been tasked with producing a report on the dispute between the RNLI and St Helier's former lifeboat crew, says he is stepping down for personal reasons and wants to pursue other opportunities.

    Guernsey Airport's runway is closed with freezing temperatures overnight causing half of the runway to be iced over.

    So far efforts to break it up have been unsuccessful despite de-icer being applied overnight as the residue quickly refreezes.

    Passengers are being advised to check the airport website, external for information on flights, as a number of aircraft couldn't return to Guernsey last night.

    We're expected an update from the airport at about 07:00.

    All States schools in Guernsey are closed today due to the icy conditions expected on island roads.

    The States made the decision last night following significant snowfall and freezing temperatures forecast.

    Inspections were carried out at each school yesterday afternoon resulting in an island-wide closure, including the College of FE, the States said.

    Education Sport and Culture Chief Secretary Gus Paterson said: "Rather than wait until Wednesday morning, with parents and staff waking up unsure if schools would be open or closed, having visited a number of sites this afternoon and taken account of the weather forecast, I took the call to make an early decision to close all States schools for tomorrow [Wednesday]."

    Elizabeth College, Beechwood, Acorn House and their pre-school are also closed.

    We're still waiting to hear from the other private colleges.

    The latest information is that the runway at Guernsey Airport remains closed while efforts are made to clear it.

    Another inspection is expected soon, with flights to Manchester and Gatwick currently delayed, external, but not cancelled.

    Meanwhile all bus services other than the route 11 have been suspended.

    Pubs in Jersey could have their opening hours extended to celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in May, the States of Jersey has said.

    The idea was proposed by Constable Steve Pallett, who is looking to extend opening hours on 18 and 19 May 2018.

    States of Jersey tweeted that "the proposition will be debated on 10 April".
