  1. 'Jersey schools to reopen tomorrow'

    Jersey schools are expected to reopen tomorrow, the island's Education Department says.

    "In view of the latest weather forecasts, we are expecting all schools to reopen tomorrow.

    "Very little snow is expected and the precipitation will turn to rain or sleet. In view of this, LibertyBus have confirmed that they expect schools buses to be operating their usual service," a spokeswoman says.

    Parents are advised to take extra care on their journeys in the morning because there could still be some icy patches on roads and pavements.

    If conditions change education says it will make an announcement at 06:00.

  6. Aurigny CEO asks passengers to rebook online

    People who were due to fly on cancelled Aurigny flights today are being asked to rebook on the airline's website.

    CEO Mark Darby says customers will be refunded for flights until Monday and because they have a "limited number" of staff today it would be better to book these on website rather than calling.

    You can then email Aurigny for a refund, he said.

    All airlines operating out of Guernsey Airport cancelled their flights earlier.

  7. Some airlines waiving rebooking fees as flights cancelled

    All Flybe, Blue Islands and Aurigny flights to and from the Channel Islands have been cancelled today.

    Blue Islands CEO Rob Veron said the "exceptional circumstances" meant they were offering customers flying today the chance to rebook for free.

    Based on the current forecast the airline intends to operate a full schedule tomorrow.

    Aurigny's CEO Mark Darby said passengers could rebook and would be refunded for flights until Monday with the States-owned airline.

    Continued forecast extreme weather, including freezing rain, across the Channel Islands and our UK destinations has resulted in the complete cancellation of all Blue Islands operated services for Thursday 1 March. Safety of our passengers and crew is our number one priority at all times."

  8. All Guernsey flights cancelled

    All flights to and from Guernsey Airport have been cancelled today.

    Earlier, the airport tweeted they were hoping to reopen later this afternoon.

    All island airlines - Flybe, Blue Islands, and now Aurigny have now confirmed they won't be flying today.

  9. No groceries to Guernsey as freight ship cancelled

    Condor Ferries' freight only ship, the Commodore Goodwill won't be delivering food supplies to Guernsey today.

    The company says forecasts show wind speeds are above safe berthing limits.

    Condor's freight and passenger ship, the Commodore Clipper, also won't sail to Guernsey today and inter-island sailings on the Rapide have been cancelled.

  16. Supermarket re-opens after snow closures

    We've all been taken by surprise at the lack of snow after forecasters issued a red warning yesterday.

    Schools in both islands are closed, some of this morning's flights were cancelled yesterday, and M&S's independently owned Guernsey stores took the decision to shut.

    However, with less snow falling staff at the L'Islet M&S store have decided to open today, despite all other shops in the chain being closed.

    A dozen staff have decided to open up the store between 11:00 and 15:00 as it's the one with the most stock.
