    Carter, who is the oldest former president and who recently recovered from cancer, was asked by reporters en route to DC if he had any advice for Trump. "Just do a good job, tell the truth," he said.

    The First Lady and Melania Trump are travelling ahead of them in the motorcade, which is now on Pennsylvania Avenue and just passed nearby Trump's new hotel.

    Vice-President Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Mike Pence are travelling together in another car.
