Kanye's rants, the best so far

When Kanye West first hit our senses as a solo artist back in 2004 we didn't know what an extreme performer he would become.

In 2015 he is notorious for expressing his views, well, anywhere and everywhere.

And he likes to use the stage as his personal soapbox.

We reckon his headline set at Glastonbury tonight will be no different.

So to get you prepared, we've picked out some of his best ever rants. So far.

Kanye's first rant

The first of Kanye's rants was subtle. It was the start of the video for his debut solo release as a rapper, Through the Wire.

It simply went: "Last October Grammy award-nominated producer Kanye West was in a nearly fatal car accident.

"His jaw was fractured in three places. Two weeks later he recorded this song with his mouth still wired shut... so the world could feel his pain."

It wasn't long before Yeezy got the world's attention when he spoke. Remember when he went off script at a benefit concert for Hurricane Katrina?

He said: "George Bush doesn't care about black people!"

It was all live and he later apologised, but we still remember it.

MTV and Kanye

This event saw the birth of Kanye crashing acceptance speeches at awards ceremonies. It was the MTV EMAs in Copenhagen and his track Touch the Sky didn't win best video.

So he stormed the stage, shouting into the mic that he should have won because "my video cost a million dollars and had Pamela Anderson in it".

Kanye had quite a run of public outbursts in the early portion of his career, before calming down a bit. Don't panic. He's since made up for the lull.

MTV again and Kanye

This is the rant that really propelled Kanye to public venting stardom.

It was the year Taylor Swift won best female video for her track You Belong With Me at the MTV Video Music Awards.

But Kanye wasn't having any of that. Before Taylor got to utter a thank you to mom and dad, Kanye snatched the mic out of her hand and was telling the world that Beyonce's Single Ladies video was "one of the best videos of all time".

Cue shocked face from Miss Swift.

Ok, let's leave the awards dramas and get to the chorus, the very ranty chorus: his concert outbursts.

Like the time he was in the middle of his track Clique but stopped to say "I ain't crazy, I'm just not satisfied".

The next day was a beautiful one because, again, he stopped the music to announce he was to become a dad with Kim Kardashian.

Festivals and Kanye

Unsurprisingly (and thankfully because this is one of our favourite rants) he didn't edit his mouth at 2015's Wireless festival in London.

"You know, people be looking at me like I've got a problem or something," he told the crowd.

"Like I'm so uncontrollable or something. Like I don't do what I'm supposed to do or something. You know, it's like they want to have everyone brainwashed."

"They want to control everybody with rumours, lies, media, marketing.

"It's like they want to steal you from you and sell you back to you after they stole it.

"They want to make you feel like less than who you really are. Because as far as I'm concerned everybody's a star."

Fifteen minutes later (after much more chat), Kanye ended his rant by saying "I just want to be awesome".

Another Kanye awards ambush

So this time Beck was the victim of a stage invasion from the West.

It happened at this year's Grammy's when Beck won best album. Beyonce again, according to Kanye, should have been recognised for her self-titled album.

He's since apologised after realising Beck played every instrument on his record.

We could go on, but this article is already long. Swish.
