Ash dieback disease may have 'serious consequences'

Environment Secretary Owen Paterson has warned that there could be "very serious consequences" as a result of ash dieback disease, which has been confirmed at 82 sites in the UK.

His comments came ahead of a summit of government and industry officials to discuss the extent of the disease and what can be done to tackle it.

Some scientists have warned that the outbreak has the potential to devastate the UK's population of 80 million ash trees.
