Jayden Parkinson death: Ex-boyfriend admits killing her

The ex-boyfriend of Jayden Parkinson has admitted killing the teenager and disposing of her body.

The 17-year-old's body was found in an established grave at All Saints' churchyard in Didcot, Oxfordshire, on 18 December.

Ben Blakeley, 22, of Christchurch Road, Reading, denies murder but admitted manslaughter, at Oxford Crown Court.

However, the prosecution refused to accept his plea and he will now be tried for her murder.

A 17-year-old charged with perverting the course of justice and disposing of Jayden's clothing pleaded not guilty at the hearing.

Mr Blakeley is due to face trial on 16 June.

It comes a day after a rededication service at the cemetery next to All Saints' Church.

The service was led by the Bishop of Dorchester, the Right Reverend Colin Fletcher, who said he hoped it would restore peace after the "deeply disturbing" events surrounding Jayden's death.

Jayden, from Didcot, disappeared on the 3 December. Police have confirmed post-mortem examinations revealed she died as a result of "pressure to the neck".
