Mrs Brown died from severe blunt force trauma to her head

The family of a Berkshire woman found dead in Windsor Great Park on Friday have paid tribute to "a truly remarkable individual".

Joanna Brown, 46, who ran a bed and breakfast from a mock-Tudor mansion in Ascot, went missing on 1 November.

Her husband Robert Brown, 46, of Winkfield, is charged with her murder.

The family of Mrs Brown, a mother-of-two originally from the Isle of Man, said: "Jo was a wonderful, adored daughter, mother, sister and friend."

'Radiant smile'

They added: [She was] a much loved and admired member of the community.

"Jo touched the hearts of everyone she met.

"Her endless positive energy and her radiant smile are engraved in all our hearts.

"The world has lost a truly remarkable individual.

"We as a family are all in deep shock and would please ask that you respect our privacy at this difficult time."

A service to celebrate Mrs Brown's life will be held at St Mary's Church in Winkfield on 19 November.

The Reverend Catherine Blundell, of St Mary's Church, said: "We were shocked and saddened by the death of Joanna Brown.

"We will continue to hold her family, especially her two young children, in our prayers.

"We will be offering them ongoing support during this difficult and traumatic time."

Mr and Mrs Brown married 11 years ago but are understood to have been going through divorce proceedings.

Post-mortem tests on her body showed she had died from severe blunt force trauma to her head.

Mr Brown, of North Street, has also been charged with preventing a coroner from holding an inquest by disposing of his wife's body.

He is next due to appear before Reading Crown Court on 10 February 2011 for a plea and case management hearing.
