Thames Water said “We’re sorry to customers in Finchampstead"

Dozens of residents have been left without water after two water mains burst.

Thames Water said 73 customers in the RG40 and RG41 postcode areas of Finchampstead and Wokingham had been affected.

The water firm apologised and said it had two teams on the ground repairing the pipe.

It added it aimed to get supplies "back on within three hours of starting our repairs".

A Thames Water spokesperson said the issue arose as a "result of two burst water mains, following the recent cold weather".

It added it had two tankers in the area bringing extra water into the network to reduce the impact to customers, and was delivering bottled water to vulnerable customers on its priority services register.

Water was returned to taps in Reading on Tuesday after three days of problems, following an issue at a treatment site and more than 10 burst mains.
