Cambridge blogger Richard Taylor filmed his camera being stolen

A political blogger managed to film the moment his camera was stolen - by turning to his mobile phone.

Richard Taylor was making a video about cycle lanes in Cambridge when his camera and tripod were grabbed.

He gave chase, filming the incident on his mobile phone as he ran after the thief in Chesterton on the evening of 18 April.

Mr Taylor can be heard shouting "oi, come back", and "stop" as the man appeared to smash his camera against a wall. The thief eventually dropped it, but it was ruined.

Mr Taylor wrote in his blog: "Engaging with how we run our society is often challenging but this is the first time I’ve faced behaviour like this."

He said the incident had been reported to police.
