Cheltenham cannabis farm worth thousands of pounds uncovered

Gloucestershire police found 100 tall cannabis plants inside the property

Two teenagers and a man have been arrested during an incident which involved a cannabis farm, an attempted burglary and machetes.

Police were called to Stanway Road in Cheltenham shortly before 03:20 BST on Thursday after a report of an attempted break-in.

Two males were seen trying to break into a car before running away along the side of a property, police said.

Officers arrested two youths and found several discarded machetes nearby.

Gloucestershire Police said there were indications that attempts had been made to break into a house on the road.

A man was then spotted on the roof of the property.

Crews from Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service helped bring the man down before he was also arrested.

Inside the house, officers seized 100 tall cannabis plants, estimated to be worth tens of thousands of pounds.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference, attempted burglary and possession of class B drugs.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference and attempted burglary and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drugs manufacture.

All three men are from London and are currently in police custody.
