Hull's City of Culture preparations under way

Hull's preparations for its year of as UK City of Culture in 2017 are well under way.

Since the city was awarded the title in November 2013, a number of redevelopment plans have been unveiled.

Martin Green, chief executive, of Hull's City of Culture Company, claimed the year-long event would be "the greatest arts festival that this country will ever have staged".
