Police investigating the death of a man in Leicester have made another arrest.

Matthew Schofield, 34, died after being assaulted in Belgrave Road at about 03:00 BST on 11 June.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on 27 December and has since been released on bail while inquiries continue, Leicestershire Police said on Wednesday.

A total of 16 people have now been arrested as part of the force's investigation.

Twelve of those arrested are currently on bail.

One person was released under investigation and three were released with no further action, police said.

Mr Schofield was found by officers almost 90 minutes after he was attacked and was pronounced dead at the scene.

In December, his mother Emma made an appeal for information six months on from his death.
