London charity donates pyjamas to children in hospital

For children, being in hospital can be a scary experience, but one London mum hopes to change that by giving youngsters in hospital pyjamas to help remind them of home comforts.

Charmaine Green started the charity Children’s Hospital Pyjamas in November 2010 when her daughter was in hospital.

She received a new scooter that had been given to the hospital from the family of another poorly child. So Charmaine decided that she too needed to give back and, when her daughter was discharged, she asked friends and family to donate new toys so she could give them to her local hospital.

After three years of donating toys, she decided to change the offering to pyjamas, as she thought they were more practical. They've now donated many thousands of pairs to children in need.
