Liverpool man denies killing elderly mother

A man has denied murdering his elderly mother at his home in Liverpool, but admitted attempted arson at her house.
Edna Gadsby, 70, was found stabbed to death at the flat on Moscow Drive, Stoneycroft, on 30 March.
Her son, Leslie Gadsby, pleaded not guilty to murder when he appeared at Liverpool Crown Court by video link from Ashworth Hospital, Maghull.
He pleaded guilty to attempted arson at her home in Gorsewood Road, Belle Vale and was remanded.
Mr Gadsby is due to stand trial on 22 November, following the preparation of psychiatric reports.
