Pain hyperacusis: 'I miss being a mum, I miss the clatter of noise'
A mother-of-two living with a rare condition in which everyday sounds cause her crippling pain says it has "erased" her.
For the last 18 months Karen Cook, from Southport, has pain hyperacusis coupled with tinnitus.
She even had to spend Christmas Day watching her children open their presents from a different room since it was too painful to be with them.
"I miss being a mum, I miss the clatter of the noise when they come in from school," she said.
