Woman cleared of encouraging driver to hit pedestrians

A woman has been cleared of encouraging a motorist to drive into a group of people in a hit-and-run crash.
A man suffered a broken pelvis when he was thrown into the air in the crash in North Walsham, Norfolk, in July.
A jury at Norwich Crown Court cleared Sammi Horner, 35, of Market Place, North Walsham, of encouraging Darren Blackmore to hit the pedestrians.
In December Blackmore, of Cantley Lane, Norwich, pleaded guilty to causing grevious bodily harm with intent.
Blackmore, 43, did not enter pleas at the time for two charges of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and one of dangerous driving, but the judge ordered the offences to remain on file.
The incident happened in the early hours of 23 July in the Vicarage Street car park in North Walsham and left a man, 30, with a broken pelvis.
Ms Horner was cleared of encouraging or assisting the commission of an indictable-only offence.
