Cromer church peregrine falcon lays first egg of year

A camera set up to monitor the progress of a pair of breeding peregrine falcons has revealed the female has laid her first egg of the season.

The birds are nesting on a platform at the top of the tower at Cromer parish church in Norfolk.

It is monitored by the Cromer Peregrine Project (CPP) and thousands of people have visited the town to watch the birds since the site was establish in 2018.

A camera has been installed by the CPP to allow people to monitor the peregrine’s progress and it captured the moment the egg arrived on Sunday.
