David Ross death: Reward doubled in Corby murder investigation

A reward for information leading to the killer of a Corby nightclub owner and bouncer has been doubled.

David Ross, 39, known as Les, was found dead with head injuries at the Village Express hotel in Corby on 17 December.

His home on Chelveston Drive was burgled two days before his murder and a laptop was among the items stolen.

The charity Crimestoppers initially offered £5,000 for information and Northamptonshire Police have now added £5,000.

Mr Ross was staying at the hotel because his home had flooded as well as being burgled.

He had opened the Rubix nightclub in the town with his business partners two weeks before his death.

'Somebody knows'

Det Ch Insp Martin Kinchin said: "Setting up the nightclub took a considerable amount of his time and finances.

"We know that Les had to borrow money to fulfil his ambition, but it is still unclear whether we have accounted for all his borrowing or whether or not this is related to the fatal assault he suffered."

Sue Langley, senior regional manager for Crimestoppers, said: "Mr Ross was a private individual who was well known in Corby due to his business interests, so this murder has shocked a lot of people.

"The person or people responsible for this assault should not be allowed to get away with this crime and I am confident somebody knows who is responsible and I would urge anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers."
