Kirkby in Ashfield: Attempted murder arrest after stabbing outside pub

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was stabbed outside a Nottinghamshire pub.

Police were called shortly before 01:00 BST on Sunday after the 27-year-old was attacked near the Nags Head pub in Station Street, Kirkby in Ashfield.

He was taken to Queen's Medical Centre and his condition is stable but life-altering, Nottinghamshire Police said.

A 40-year-old man was held on suspicion of attempted murder on Sunday evening and remains in police custody.
