A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing.

Thames Valley Police said the victim was attacked with a knife in Manzil Way, Oxford, between 18:30 GMT and 19:00 on Wednesday.

A 24-year-old man from Oxford has been arrested and remains in police custody. The victim remains in hospital and is in a stable condition.

He received first aid treatment at Central Oxford Mosque before an ambulance came to take him to hospital.

Police said two men were in an alleyway between Cosin Close and Manzil Way before moving to Manzil Way where the attack took place.

Officers believe the men knew each other and are appealing for witnesses.
