Somerset councils end talks over sharing managers

Talks about sharing a chief executive across three of Somerset's councils have come to an end.

Conservative-run Taunton Deane Borough, West Somerset and Sedgemoor District councils had been discussing sharing top managers.

John Williams, the leader of Taunton Deane, said one chief executive was "now off the cards".

He added that the councils were still looking at working together in other ways to save money.
