Consultation on Guildford's future enters final stage

A public consultation on how a Surrey town centre should look in the future is entering its final stage.
A draft masterplan for Guildford has been drawn up following views expressed by hundreds of local people, community groups and organisations.
Issues raised by the public so far include challenges facing the town centre in the future, areas needing improvement and specific sites.
The final part of the consultation on the masterplan runs until 23 January.
Councillor Tony Rooth, leader of Guildford Borough Council, has urged everyone "to have their say on how the town centre will look and feel over the next 20 years".
The council aims to complete and adopt the masterplan by next May.
As part of the consultation, it is holding a drop-in session on 14 December at its Millmead office to give the public an opportunity for an informal discussion with planning officers.
