Newcastle judge warns of knife crime as Gordon Gault killers jailed

A judge urged young people not to carry knives as he jailed two teenagers for killing a 14-year-old boy.

Gordon Gault was fatally injured by a machete as part of a feud between two gangs of youths in Newcastle in November 2022.

Judge Mr Justice Martin Spencer said the courts were seeing too many such instances, adding: "Too many young lives have been lost."

Carlos Neto and Lawson Natty, both 18, were convicted of manslaughter and jailed for nine years two months and two years eights months respectively.
