Wootton Bassett: Seven arrests over New Year's Day stabbing of teen
- Published
Seven people have been arrested over the stabbing of a 15-year-old boy on New Year's Day.
The child was taken to hospital after the incident in Ruxley Close, Wootton Bassett, at about 16:15 GMT on Sunday.
After being discharged, Wiltshire Police arrested him and three teenagers on suspicion of violent disorder.
Two 14-year-old boys were then arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and a 23-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender.
One of the boys arrested on Monday morning remains in custody in Swindon while the other has been released on bail, police said.
The woman and four other boys, aged between 14 and 16, have also now been released on bail.
The force has renewed its appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
Natalie Stride, from Swindon CID, reassured the community they are taking the "incredibly concerning incident" very seriously.
"There is no place for incidents of this kind within our community and I know those living in Royal Wootton Bassett will be upset by the ages of those thought to be involved," she added.
