Tributes have been paid to a "highly-regarded" firefighter who died in a road crash.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service watch manager Mark Hillier died in a crash on the A345 Salisbury Road, Pewsey, on Thursday at about 18:50 BST.
Chief Fire Officer Ben Ansell said everyone was "deeply shocked".
"Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones at this extremely difficult time," he added.
Flags are being flown at half-mast across Dorset and Wiltshire as a mark of respect.
Mr Hillier joined Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service in October 1995 as an on-call firefighter at Pewsey Fire Station.
Making a difference
He also worked as a full-time firefighter in Surrey for nine years, before transferring back to Dorset and Wiltshire to be the watch manager at Salisbury Fire Station.
In 2021, Mr Hillier was recognised with a Making a Difference award for his work and commitment to organising the 'laptops for kids' initiative.
Wiltshire Police said the crash involved a Suzuki Grand Vitara, travelling towards Pewsey on the A345 Salisbury Road, and a BMW X3 travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the BMW was not injured.
Anyone who witnessed the crash, or drivers with dash-cam footage, are being asked to contact Wiltshire Police.
