Christmas walking challenge accepted for Knockbreda pupils

Forget planes, trains, automobiles or famously luminously-nosed reindeer - some young people in Belfast have been travelling by foot this Christmas.

The pupils at Knockbreda Primary School in south Belfast have taken up a Christmas challenge to walk to school, culminating in a special event on Friday.

It saw pupils, staff and parents all get in the festive swing of things, with Christmas hats and Santa beards galore.
