Arts funding: Ex-ballerina Deborah Bull on financing
The arts provide employment and tourism, plus urban regeneration and social cohesion, said the former ballerina and ambassador for the arts Deborah Bull.
She said the "public are voting with their feet" and already providing half of the money for the arts, as fears rise for a cut to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) budget in the 26 June Spending Review, which could hit services like museums and theatres.
