A woman has died and three others are in a serious condition after a car crash in Argyll.

Police said the two-vehicle collision happened on the A83, north of Tarbert, at about 10:55 on Friday.

The driver of a blue Peugeot 107 died at the scene.

The female driver of a white Vauxhall Mokka and two male passengers were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. All three are said to be in a serious condition.

The A83 remains closed in both directions as inquiries into the crash continue.

Sgt Sean Dempsey said a number of people had spoken to officers, after stopping at the scene to help, but urged anyone else with information to get in touch, external.
