Opponents of plans for a third bridge over the River Don in Aberdeen have lodged a legal bid to block the crossing.

Supporters of the project insist the bridge would ease traffic congestion in the Tillydrone area.

Now residents, some of whom have been served compulsory purchase orders, are going ahead with a legal challenge at the Court of Session.

Aberdeen City Council said it had not received confirmation of the action.
