Conservatives name Aberdeen by-election candidate as Ross Thomson

Ross Thomson will contest the by-election on 20 June

City councillor Ross Thomson has been selected as the Scottish Conservative candidate to fight the Aberdeen Donside by-election following the death of MSP Brian Adam.

SNP member Mr Adam died last month, aged 64, after a battle with cancer.

Mr Thomson's campaign will be launched on Friday.

The by-election will be held on Thursday 20 June.
