Plans for a permanent short-term site for travelling people in Aberdeen, and a bylaw, are to be pursued.

Howes Road, between Northfield and Bucksburn, was earlier chosen as the preferred location.

It was selected over three other possible sites at Blackdog, Scotstown Road recycling centre, and the former council depot at Springhill Road.

The council will also push ahead with plans for a by-law outlawing travellers stopping in parks and public places.

The proposals were passed 22 votes to 10, with five abstentions.
