Scottish Borders Council has said work will soon begin on a section of the A72 which was affected by a landslip.

For almost four months, traffic lights have controlled movements at Dirtpot Corner, between Innerleithen and Cardrona.

Drivers have reported long delays as they waited to use the restricted section of road.

The council said netting work to secure land above the A72 would take place during the week beginning 19 August.

Permission for the stabilising work at Nutwood had to be granted by Scottish Natural Heritage, as it is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest.

It is understood that negotiations with landowners also took longer than expected.
