Calls for police and 'paedophile hunters' to work together

There are calls for "paedophile hunters" to be given a greater role in the fight against online child sex exploitation.

Since December, seven men in the Gwent Police area have been convicted with the help of groups which pose as children and wait for predators to make contact.

Gwent police and crime commissioner Jeff Cuthbert told BBC Wales' Week In Week Out programme that hunters and police should "work together".

The Home Office and police said it was inappropriate for the public to conduct undercover work.

Week In Week Out is on BBC One Wales at 22:40 BST on Wednesday
