Small businesses are to benefit from more than £200m during the coronavirus outbreak, the Welsh Government said on Tuesday.

Shops, leisure and hospitality businesses will see their rates cut, and in some cases removed.

Council leaders said authorities were focusing resources on "key frontline services" like social care so services like bin collections could be reduced.

Two people have died out of 124 confirmed cases of the virus in Wales.

The UK government has advised against non-essential travel and told people to work from home.

  • Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board said some surgeries were closing temporarily to concentrate services and resources, and that some routine appointments maybe cancelled

  • Coedpenmaen County Primary School in Pontypridd said it was closed on Tuesday as a precaution following an unconfirmed case of Covid-19

  • Wrexham's Glyndwr University joins other Welsh colleges and cancels face-to-face teaching

  • Powys County Council said its chief executive was in self-isolation as a precautionary measure after feeling unwell, although she was continuing to work from home

  • Campaigners are calling for evictions to be banned during the crisis

  • Plaid Cymru have called for final year medical students to be "fast tracked" through courses

  • National Museum Wales' venues and Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre in Bangor, Gwynedd, joined a growing list of attractions to close due to the outbreak

  • The Machynlleth Comedy Festival is off

  • In snooker, the Tour Championship at Venue Cymru in Llandudno, Conwy, has been postponed with a rescheduled date set for July

  • A judge sent a jury home at Mold Crown Court, telling them a trial had been postponed as the defendant was self-isolating

  • The Football Association of Wales has backed the decision by Uefa to push Euro 2021 back by 12 month

  • Cathedral choirs in Bangor, Brecon, and St Davids have suspended singing, with a last evensong "until further notice" at Llandaff from 17:30 GMT

  • Hand sanitisers have been taken from hospital wards in north Wales, according to health officials who say the sterilising gel is needed to "protect staff, visitors and patients, and should not be removed for any reason"

  • Anglesey council said it was in talks with local communities and volunteers to ensure the "most vulnerable are supported"

  • Darland High School, Wrexham, Ysgol Tryfan in Bangor and Blackwood school, Caerphilly county, have shut for Years 7 to 9. In a statement, Blackwood school said the closure is until the end of the week to ensure the "health and safety" of those preparing for exams and staff supporting them

  • The National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth said it is to close for an indefinite period, with events cancelled for an initial period of three months

  • Cadw, which looks after Wales' historic buildings and castles, said sites with staffed visitor centres will be closed to the public until further notice

  • Cardiff University said it had decided to postpone its summer 2020 graduation ceremonies with "deep regret"
