Bridgend: Soldier who took own life was waiting for therapy
A soldier who took his own life had been waiting five years for therapy when he died.
George Du Preez, who lived in Bridgend and served as a private in Afghanistan, developed post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after mistakenly shooting a child.
His widow, Katriona, said he did not know he was firing at a child at the time.
"I've got a little boy at home who doesn't have [a] daddy," she said.
