A burst water main which left thousands of homes in Wrexham and Flintshire without water for hours has been fixed.

About 6,000 properties in Hope, Caergwrle, Llay, Penyffordd and Penymynydd had no water or reduced pressure on Monday morning.

The disruption came after a water main burst in Alyn Waters Country Park at about 06:00 BST.

Dee Valley Water said customers may notice discolouration in the water when it returned.

Customers should run the cold water tap in the kitchen for 15-20 minutes to help return water to normal.
