Missing Kyle Vaughan: Walk in his memory a year on

A walk has been staged in memory of a missing man - who police believe has been murdered - almost a year after he disappeared.

Kyle Vaughan, 24, from Newbridge, was last seen on 30 December 2012 and his damaged car was later found abandoned.

Friends and family left Rodney Parade in Newport on Sunday afternoon for the 35 minute walk.

Three people are currently on police bail in connection with Mr Vaughan's disappearance.

Organisers of the walk asked all those taking part to wear red.

Balloons were also being released as part of the event to raise funds for the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) which helped look for Mr Vaughan.

Last month, Gwent Police said it was "incredibly confident" about finding the missing man's body.

Known to his friends as Jabbers, he was last seen in the Abercarn and Risca areas.

His silver Peugeot 306 was in a collision on the night he disappeared but it is not known if he was driving it.

The damaged car was later found on the A467 between Risca and Crosskeys.

Police believe Mr Vaughan walked away from his car but it remains a mystery what happened to him after that.

A £5,000 reward has been offered for information about his disappearance.
