Carmarthenshire council set to help Tai Cantref Housing Association

Carmarthenshire council has confirmed it is interested in taking a stake in running the troubled Tai Cantref Housing Association.

Cantref announced plans in March to seek a partnership after a review by the Welsh Government into its operation and governance.

It provides affordable homes and housing services for almost 3,500 people.

It rents homes in Powys, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.

Councillor Linda Evans, executive board member for housing, said the county council has "submitted an expression of interest to be considered as a preferred partner" to the housing association.

Chief executive Lynne Sacale resigned in March after 10 years.
