Mercedes crashes after 130mph police pursuit

Police dashcam has captured a driver speeding on busy roads and going the wrong way on a roundabout during a pursuit.

Northamptonshire Police said the Mercedes C200 was clocked at speeds of up to 130mph (209km/h), and was seen weaving around traffic on dual carriageways and residential streets on 27 April.

The force said the driver sped off after refusing to stop on the A45 near Great Doddington before eventually hitting bollards, crashing off a Northampton road and running into a nearby garden.

It said the man admitted dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a road collision and driving without insurance at Northampton Crown Court, and was jailed for two years and two months.
