BBC journalist describes 'shocked silence' at scene of attack
At least two people have died in an attack on a synagogue in north Manchester.
Police were called to reports that a car had been driven at members of the public in Crumpsall and that one person had been stabbed.
Armed police shot a suspect in the grounds of the building - his condition is not known and bomb disposal officers are at the scene.
There was a 'shocked silence' on the streets near the synagogue, says BBC correspondent Danny Savage, where earlier there had been 'chaos, terror and fear'.
