Police investigate after speed camera cut down

An investigation has been launched into footage appearing to show a speed camera being cut down.

South Wales Police said it was investigating the incident which happened on Llangyfelach Road in Treboeth, Swansea, on Tuesday.

The force said: "We are aware of footage circulating online which appears to show individuals cutting down a speed camera on Llangyfelach Road, Treboeth, Swansea."

It asked for anyone with information to get in touch.

Swansea council said speed cameras were strategically placed along routes where there had been a previous concern with high speeds, and often led to serious crashes.

It urged the public to report any information they have about those carrying out "this senseless act of vandalism".
