Watch 'reckless' racing cars smash into taxi

Two men have been disqualified from driving for two years after “significantly” injuring a taxi driver following a race in Magor, near Newport, in October 2022.

The men, aged 20 and 21, also each received suspended prison sentences of two years.

The taxi was not involved in the race.

“It is more through luck than judgement that the resulting injuries caused by these two defendants was not more severe – there can be no excuses for deciding to drive as dangerously as this,” said PC Matthew Davies from Gwent Police.
