PM mocked for football blunder on campaign visit

“So are you looking forward to all the football?”

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was met with awkward silence and mocking remarks when he asked whether people were looking forward to the Euro 2024 football tournament - for which Wales have not qualified - on the first full day of general election campaigning.

During a visit to a brewery in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, Mr Sunak also attacked the Welsh government over speed limits and said patients were being let down by the state of the Welsh NHS.
