Watch: Deadly rainfall sets record in New York City
At least two people were confirmed dead after record rainfall hit New York City on 30 October.
The body of a 39-year-old man was recovered from a flooded basement in Brooklyn, while a 43-year-old was found dead in a submerged boiler room in Manhattan, according to local media.
In a post on X, the NYC Emergency Management said some areas saw record-breaking rainfall, with 1.80 inches recorded in Central Park, surpassing a 1917 record, and 1.97 inches at LaGuardia Airport, breaking the previous record set in 1955.
