Treat endometriosis more urgently, says patient
Endometriosis patient Lara Stevens is calling for the condition to be treated with the same urgency as cancer.
The 36-year-old, who had non-Hodgkin lymphoma at seven, believes it is not taken as seriously, despite symptoms including severe to debilitating pain, fatigue, heavy periods, and being associated with infertility.
The university lecturer, who lives near Cardiff, said: "I don't think it's given the same level of importance as cancer and... maybe this should be seen as (being as) important, not more, just as important."
The Welsh government said the issue was a key priority and that a women's health plan was due this year.
