Deaf swimmer fundraising to go to Tokyo games
A deaf teenager's dream to compete at the Deaflymics could be under threat due to a lack of funding.
Charlotte Gower, 15, who lives near Rugby, Warwickshire, has qualified to swim for Great Britain at the event in November.
The first Deaflympics was held in Paris in 1924 and it takes place every four years, with the 51st games to be held in Tokyo.
However there is currently no funding for elite deaf athletes so she said she and her family were looking to raise money so she can go.
