Play explores Alzheimer's impact on families

How a family's dynamic changes when the matriarch starts experiencing memory loss is being explored by a new production at the National Theatre on London's South Bank.

A Tupperware of Ashes, written by Tanika Gupta, tells the story of a Michelin-starred chef who begins to develop gaps in her memory and the repercussions that her deterioration has on her children.

In the lead role as Queenie is award-winning writer and actor Meera Syal, who drew on her personal experiences of her father's Alzheimer's diagnosis for the part.
