Moment sinkhole pulls down power lines in busy Bangkok street

A giant sinkhole opened up on a busy Bangkok road in front of a hospital and police station, causing evacuations. Cars were left teetering on the edge of the crater in a residential area of Thailand's capital.

The hole, roughly 50m (160ft), pulled down power lines and exposed a burst pipe gushing water, according to eyewitnesses.

The collapse was likely linked to recent heavy rain and a leaky pipe, authorities told news agency AFP.

Thai authorities have confirmed there were no injuries or deaths.
